The EHS Intern will report to the EHS Leader and work closely with employees, supervisors and Safety Committee members. This role provides real-world experience with OSHA compliance, hazard identification, incident prevention, industrial hygiene, employee training, environmental compliance and continuous improvement.\nWhat Moves You?\nWe’re not going to lie; this is an amazing opportunity. It requires hard work, a lot of innovation and enthusiasm and, of course, an abundance of Purple Passion (def. a love of play, bringing play to communities and specific love of Burke and those you work with)!\nThe Role\nSafety and EHS Support\nHazard Assessments/Safety Improvements - Evaluate a department, identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track improvements.\nIndustrial Hygiene - Assist with noise, welding fume, and dust sampling and review potential exposure controls.\nOSHA Standards/Compliance - Research specific OSHA standards, compare them to our current practices, and identify any opportunities for improvement.\nEmployee Safety Training - Develop and possibly deliver a safety training topic, toolbox talk, or awareness campaign.\nLOTO or Forklift Safety - Review procedures/practices and help identify improvements.\nEnvironmental/ISO 14001 - Assist with environmental aspects, waste streams, recycling, wastewater, stormwater, or other ISO initiatives.\nEmergency Preparedness - Review emergency procedures, participate in drills, and identify possible improvements.\nTeamwork\nWe have an awesome team at Burke and the right individual for this role will fit well within our culture of teamwork, straightforward and open communication.
