If you have a passion to learn more about human resources in a manufacturing environment - we have the role for you!\nThe Role\nThe HR Intern will gain hands-on experience across a variety of Human Resources functions while providing day-to-day support to the HR team. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee records, HR systems, employee engagement, training, and general HR operations.\nThe HR Intern will work closely with members of the HR team and employees throughout the organization, gaining practical experience in how Human Resources supports employees and business operations. The role will also have opportunities to take ownership of defined projects and process improvements throughout the internship.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist with new hire onboarding, including pre-employment activities, orientation preparation, documentation, and follow-up. \nSupport recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication, and preparing interview materials. \nAssist with maintaining personnel files and other HR documentation. \nLead the new hire check-in process, gather insights and suggest improvements on information collected. \nAssist with employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and other company events. \nSupport routine employee questions and direct more complex questions to the appropriate HR team member. \nParticipate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives. \nIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes, tools, communications, and the employee experience. \nMaintain confidentiality of employee and company information. \nPerform other HR-related duties and projects as assigned. \nDuring the internship, the HR Intern will have the opportunity to:\nGain practical experience across multiple areas of Human Resources. \nLearn how HR supports employees throughout the employee lifecycle. \nDevelop experience using HR systems and working with employee data. \nBuild professional communication and organizational skills. \nGain exposure to HR practices within a manufacturing environment. \nParticipate in recruiting, onboarding, engagement, training, and HR operations. \nOwn projects from planning through implementation. \nWork directly with HR professionals and business leaders. \nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. \nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail. \nAbility to communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization. \nComfortable working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. \nDemonstrated discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality. \nWillingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative. \nTeamwork\nWe have an awesome team at Burke and the right individual for this role will fit well within our culture of teamwork, straightforward and open communication.
