In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.4 billion in net income to the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, host local governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.\nJob Summary\nThe Analyst, Analytics Delivery 2 performs analytical work to support the development, implementation and maintenance of reporting and analytics solutions. As a specialist in data analytics, business systems analysis, and visualizations, the individual is a consultative partner to both internal and external stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement, and for bringing new concepts and methods to the analytics team. This position will focus on digital analytics solutions across BCLC digital properties (websites and applications).\nKey Accountabilities\nApplies specialized knowledge for visualization and insight generation and delivers analytics products that are easy to use.\nUnderstands the business objectives and analyzes data available to provide insights and makes recommendations to the Product Owner.\nDesigns, develops, and executes queries to access and expose data layers to be used in providing business insights.\nResearches and learns about new technologies and data and reporting best practices (where best practices may include industry, general business or BCLC business acumen) to identify new insights and new technical capabilities.\nDevelops data and reporting functionality, including reports and dashboards, based on requirements and in accordance with all product release and design standards. Responsible for unit, integration, and regression testing.\nCollaborates with internal stakeholders, Data Analysts and Data Integration Developers, to understand detailed business needs and develop reporting and analytical solutions.\nProvides informal functional leadership and mentors peers and lower levels.\nQualifications\nA combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered.\nEducation & Experience\nA Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as Business Analytics, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Analysis, or Statistics;\n3 - 5 years of relevant experience in development of data and analytic solutions, including a minimum of 3 years proven technical experience working within a complex business environment with the demonstrated ability to analyze business situations and develop innovative solutions to complex solutions;\nExperience with the following: developing end-to-end analysis with limited guidance; data intelligence best practices; visualization techniques, segmentation, core KPI development, promotion/campaign ROI analysis and post analysis; data analysis and designing reporting solutions including (but not limited to) dashboards, portals, and report objects; web analytics.\nKnowledge & Technical Skills\nSolid knowledge and experience with business analysis, business intelligence reporting, web/digital analytics and/or marketing analytics;\nAdept experience in statistical analytics including the use of statistical software, the gathering of data and analysis to support predictive model generation;\nSolid understanding of best practices in data visualizations and storytelling to diverse stakeholders;\nSolid understanding and experience with\nDigital analytics data collection tools (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics)\nDatabase query and analysis languages (SQL, Python, Google BigQuery)\nData visualization software (Power BI, Google Data Studio, Qlik, Tableau);\nStrong technical writing skills, and able to write reports and document procedures;\nProficient user of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.\nCompetencies\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy;\nStrong business acumen;\nStrong communication skills to explain complex information in an effective manner.
