In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.4 billion in net income to the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, host local governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.\nJob Summary\nThe Systems Administrator 3 acts as a senior technical resource in application/service architecture, application design and delivery, translating business and technical requirements into enterprise system solutions by defining and developing technical solution architectures and functional/non-functional designs for Platform and Product teams. This role partners with diverse stakeholders on leading and delivering enterprise system solutions, including Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, business stakeholders, as well as a variety of technical and business subject matter experts.\nThis role will primarily support BCLC's Enterprise Observability capability and the administration, integration, support and continuous improvement of enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, including Dynatrace. The role provides senior technical expertise and implementation guidance to support effective monitoring, application performance management, operational visibility and service assurance across BCLC.\nKey Accountabilities\nActs as a technical leader translating business requirements and providing technical and impact analysis to deliver enterprise system solutions.\nAdministers, configures, integrates, upgrades, and supports enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, including Dynatrace, ensuring they remain available, secure, scalable, and supportable\nDesigns and implements monitoring, observability, and operational support solutions across applications, infrastructure, cloud, container platforms, and digital services.\nContributes to the Enterprise Architecture and the wider Architecture Community of Excellence (COE) to provide significant input and recommendations on Architecture Strategy, Enterprise Domain Roadmaps, Principles, Standards, and\nReference Architectures throughout the organization.\nTakes a lead role in addressing complex incidents, leveraging enterprise monitoring and observability platforms to support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration.\nDemonstrates innovation and regularly makes recommendations for new approaches to technical work and broader issues resolution.\nAwareness of emerging technologies to provide advice and recommend solutions and opportunities to business and technology stakeholders. Participates in Development Community of Practice and/or COE’s to ensure alignment with development trends, technology, and approaches.\nConducts thorough reviews and ensures technical solutions are aligned with the overall Enterprise Architecture Principles, Strategy, Roadmaps, and that they are implemented in adherence with designs.\nCollaborates with subject matter experts to define non-functional requirements, including monitoring, alerting, reliability, and operational support requirements.\nDevelops integrations and automation using APIs, scripting, and related enterprise tooling to improve monitoring, operational workflows, and platform administration\nUtilizes industry-standard approaches and a deep understanding of enterprise systems and their integration points to identify gaps and recommend creative solutions to technical work.\nLeads the development and continuous improvement of standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies; and communicates technical solutions using agreed upon standard documentation processes.\nLeads Proof of Concepts or Architectural Spikes as required, including evaluation of monitoring, observability and telemetry technologies where appropriate\nProvides informal leadership through coaching, training, and mentoring peers, and other staff members, fostering their professional growth, and contribute to a collaborative and learning-oriented team culture.\nActs as a delegate for their leader as required.\nQualifications\nA combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered.\nEducation & Experience\nA Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, supplemented by industry recognized professional courses;\n4 to 6 years of relevant experience in medium to large sized environments, including a minimum of three years’ experience in a senior systems administration, platform engineering, DevOps, monitoring, observability, development, or related technical role\nRelevant certifications for Dynatrace, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Windows, Kubernetes, service management, AWS, Azure, or related technologies would be an asset\nExperience administering and optimizing Dynatrace or comparable enterprise observability platforms, including monitoring configuration, alerting, dashboards, integrations, automation, APIs, and operational troubleshooting.\nKnowledge & Technical Skills\nSolid knowledge and experience with vendor management;\nAdvanced skills in:Installation, troubleshooting and administration of hyperconverged infrastructure and virtual environments;\nCloud environments;\nMedium to large datacenter environments;\nActive Directory, DNS, and DHCP;\nAutomation platforms, scripting, APIs, and system integrations;\nAdministration of systems; including troubleshooting, performance analysis, telemetry analysis, and scripting.\nSource code management, artifact management and repositories.\nHypervisors, Java, TCPIP networking and Containerization;\nLoad balancer techniques, Security Certificates (SSL);
