Working in this vibrant, creative and supportive team environment will see your knowledge and skills thrive to unparalleled levels.\n\nAbout this role:\n\nReporting to the Store Manager, the Supervisor assists in the management of a major retail operation. Responsibilities include ensuring good customer service, supervision of staff, developing teamwork and maintaining good staff morale. The position may also assist in controlling stock levels and stock variances and ensuring acceptable levels of security in the store for both staff and physical assets. The Supervisor is expected to contribute to improving the Branch image by providing support for all Branch policies. The Supervisor is also involved in training staff, scheduling assignments, participating in all store duties, and may be involved in labour relations matters.\n\nA criminal record check is required.\n\nSuccessful completion of Serving It Right™ certification will be required prior to confirmation of any appointments of this position. May be required to lift liquor cases up to 50 lbs. to varying heights, standing at a cash register for extended periods of time and performing warehouse duties including frequent bending and standing. Work is performed in a multi-shift retail operation.\n\nFor complete details about this opportunity, including accountabilities, please refer to the attached job description, also located in the Additional Information section at the bottom of the posting.\n\nAn eligibility list for permanent or temporary future opportunities may be established.\n\nPosition requirements:\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nSecondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.\n\nA minimum of six (6) months of recent experience* in a customer-facing, service-oriented environment.\n\n Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:\n\nThree (3) months of recent experience* as a supervisor.\n\nExperience working in a retail environment.\n\nExperience in an environment with annual sales in excess of $1 million.\n\nExperience with driving and achieving sales.\n\nDegree, diploma or certificate in business or retail management or successful completion of a supervisory/leadership course.\n\n*Recent experience is defined as occurring within the past five (5) years.\n\nCandidates that are applying with relief time (i.e., supervisory experience in a relief capacity) must clearly state the number of hours of relief they have at the time of this posting.
