Join our growing team as a Senior Technical Writer, supporting the NGA customer mission.\nResponsibilities\nWhat you get to do every day:\nYou’ll work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, program leadership, subject-matter experts, and customer stakeholders to gather information, understand complex technologies, and produce polished, mission-ready documentation.\nDevelop, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for complex GEOINT systems, software, and mission capabilities.\nTranslate highly technical concepts into clear, concise, audience-appropriate content.\nCollaborate directly with engineers, developers, architects, analysts, and subject-matter experts to gather and validate information.\nCreate and maintain system documentation, user guides, technical manuals, standard operating procedures, release documentation, architecture descriptions, and other program deliverables.\nEstablish and maintain documentation standards, templates, style guides, and content-development processes.\nReview existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and completeness.\nManage multiple documentation efforts and priorities while meeting demanding deadlines.\nInterview technical and mission personnel and synthesize complex information into accessible written content.\nWork within controlled and potentially classified environments while adhering to program security and documentation requirements.\nContribute to continuous improvement of the organization's technical communication practices.\nQualifications\nClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly\nEducation/Experience:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in English, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Communication or 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience, or 8-12+ years of prior relevant experience in lieu of degree.\n7+ years of professional technical writing experience, preferably supporting complex technology, software, systems engineering, defense, or intelligence programs\nRequired Skills:\nExperience documenting complex software, systems, cloud, or DevSecOps environments\nExperience creating system documentation, architecture documents, SOPs, user guides, and release documentation\nHands-on experience with Confluence and Jira or similar tools\nAbility to work directly with engineers and independently understand complex technical systems\nDemonstrated ability to understand and document complex technical systems and concepts\nExceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and information-organization skills\nAbility to independently research unfamiliar technologies and quickly develop subject-matter proficiency\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to technical accuracy\nExperience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nFamiliarity with documentation tools and content-development workflows\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including the confidence to interview technical experts and ask thoughtful questions\nWhat is ideal?\nExperience working in a classified environment\nCertified Professional Technical Communicator\nFamiliarity with software development, cloud technologies, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, data systems, or systems engineering\nExperience with Markdown, XML, DITA, Git or similar documentation/content-management tools.\nExperience in creating documentation for Agile or DevSecOps development teams\nIntelligence Community Experience preferred\nWhat you can expect from us\nRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonuses\nYou’ll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence community \nThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $82,000-$145,000 Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
