Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a Software Developer / A&A Engineer in Herndon, Virginia.\nResponsibilities\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Developer with expertise in secure software engineering and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes. The candidate will develop secure applications, conduct security assessments, and support A&A efforts in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to safeguard customer assets.The team primarily develops in C# and .NET. Candidates with strong experience in Java or another object-oriented programming language are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should be able to become productive in C# within the first several months.Key Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and services.\nDevelop readable, maintainable, and secure software.\nTroubleshoot application defects and production issues.\nReview code and contribute to technical design decisions.\nWork with customers and team members to clarify requirements.\nMaintain technical documentation.\nParticipate in planning, code reviews, testing, and software releases.\nSupport and improve existing applications, including legacy systems.\nComplete security-relevant A&A tasks, such as risk assessments, vulnerability management, security control testing, and preparing authorization packages.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on security engineering and A&A processes.\nBachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.\nStrong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, or C++.\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and common software design patterns.\nExperience developing and supporting business or enterprise applications.\nExperience with source control, code reviews, testing, debugging, and the Software Development Lifecycle\nExperience working with relational databases, web services, or application integrations.\nAbility to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and systems.\nKnowledge of A&A processes, including identifying and addressing security incidents and compliance issues.\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience with C# and .NET.\nExperience with PowerShell or another scripting language.\nExperience developing web APIs, Windows services, desktop applications, or web applications.\nExperience with Microsoft Windows and IIS environments.\nExperience with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.\nExperience working with AWS and Azure\nExperience using GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, and Confluence\nFamiliarity with secure software development practices.\nFamiliarity with Agile development methods.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI-enabled application capabilities, including the secure use and validation of generated code and content.\nWhat you can expect from us\nThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $145,000 - 170,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
