It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nD-Shift --6pm-6am rotating 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off!\nJob Responsibilities\nPerform/audit first/last article checks\nMonitor all auxiliary equipment for proper operation and grinding runners where applicable.\nWeigh and label each bag, box, or tote using the utility computer.\nEnsure all labels are correct according to the work order information.\nPrepare parts for shipment to the warehouse by properly labeling each box and stacking on the appropriate pallets.\nPreform dimensional and visual quality checks.\nDocument quality checks and corrective actions on the Molding Inspection Record.\nPrepare all paperwork for upcoming changes.\nResponsible for proper handling and documentation of rejected product on the injection molding machines.\nMaintain an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.\nAs requested, assist other team members in cross-training and conduct on the job training of other associates.\nActively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, etc.\nContinuously improve through the KAS program, meeting department goals for completed KAS.\nAlign with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.\nFollow all local BD quality, housekeeping and safety policies, procedures and practices.\nSkills:\nGood at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done.\nUnderstands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow.\nCan simplify complex processes; gets more out of fewer resources.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED or 1 year of consecutive work.\nOne to four years of manufacturing experience preferred\nOne year of injection molding machine experience preferred\nWork Environment & Essential Physical Functions:\nThis position is in a clean room or laboratory manufacturing environment and the physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions (Per the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990)\nThe incumbent may be frequently required to stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.\nWhile performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, kneeling, balancing, crouching, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers. \nThe incumbent may occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs., frequently carry up to 5 lbs.\nThe position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations. \nEmployees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment.\nThe incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.\nAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
