Rotating 12-hour schedule using a 2-2-3 pattern\nJob Summary\nThe Electromechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives and small-scale engineering projects while collaborating with Controls Coordinators and Process Engineers to implement enhancements to manufacturing processes. The technician ensures compliance with BD Quality Systems, policies, procedures, and all applicable local, state, federal, and company safety requirements. Regular attendance, effective communication in English, and a commitment to BD's Values are essential.\nKey Responsibilities\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nSupport Controls Coordinators and Process Engineers with the implementation of process improvements involving mechanical systems, electrical systems, controls programming, robotics, and machine vision technologies.\n\nTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including pneumatics, electric motors, variable frequency drives, and servo systems.\n\nPerform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability and performance.\n\nDiagnose, maintain, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).\n\nMaintain and repair robotic systems and automated manufacturing equipment.\n\nTroubleshoot and maintain industrial communication networks.\n\nPerform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and validation activities in accordance with established standards and procedures.\n\nManage and maintain machine and equipment spare parts inventory.\n\nTrain and instruct machine operators on proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance practices, and safety procedures.\n\nProvide leadership, coaching, and technical support to fellow associates.\n\nRespond to equipment issues outside of normal working hours on an as-needed call-in basis.\n\nUpdate and maintain Quality System documentation as required.\n\nTroubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to optimize performance, quality, and uptime.\n\nSupport additional business needs and special projects as assigned.\n\nMinimum Education\nAssociate's Degree in Electromechanical Technology or a related technical field required.\n\nMinimum Experience\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.\n\nExperience troubleshooting and maintaining automated production equipment is highly desirable.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.\n\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.\n\nKnowledge of PLC programming, controls systems, and industrial automation.\n\nExperience with robotics and machine vision systems.\n\nUnderstanding of industrial networks and communication protocols.\n\nProficiency with fabrication techniques and equipment.\n\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD and technical documentation.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.\n\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.\n\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
