Oversees day-to-day operations through the unit’s governance systems, coaching shift production leaders and associates in the application of BD Excellence principles throughout their daily manufacturing activities. Promotes a culture of accountability by guiding shift production leaders and associates to meet expectations related to safety, quality, production, cost, housekeeping, and compliance with all policies and procedures. Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved while driving production performance to meet goals and schedules. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nPromptly address any safety issues or incidents.\nSpend a minimum of 90% of time on production floor leading shift production leaders and associates.\nCollaborate closely with the Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability departments to address and resolve production needs\nLead TMS and coordinate priorities with Process Engineer and Maintenance Technician.\nCommunicate improvement strategies (SQDC) for the production area effectively across all shifts to ensure alignment and consistent execution\nResponsible for overseeing and monitoring staffing levels and training plans across all shifts to ensure adequate coverage and workforce capability.\nServe as the owner of the Tier Management System (TMS) and 5S within the assigned production areas, ensuring consistent execution and sustainability.\nProvide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.\nEnsure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management.\nRepresent concerns of production associates to management, as well as management concerns to production associates.\nEnsure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Works with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.\nActively participate and support BD Excellence way\nCollaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.\nTrack production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met.
