It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nThe Manufacturing Engineering provides support to the Engineering and Production Department's activities by doing work which requires the application of Engineering knowledge and methods in the areas of equipment problems and preventative maintenance combined with technical skills.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nThe essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:\nInvolvement in the innovation and design and construction of manufacturing equipment.\nInvolvement in the direction of outside Engineering firms in the design and construction of equipment.\nCoordinates and provides support in the area of debugging of new equipment and may include validation support.\nEnsures that all equipment, processes, and facilities meet the requirements of designated government regulations such as OSHA, GMP, FDA, EPA, etc.\nTroubleshoots problems with the manufacturing equipment of a mechanical and electrical nature.\nCoordinates communication between Division R&D and Plant personnel on new products, product improvements and product problems.\nParticipates in Engineering and Production functions to achieve the overall objectives of the Plant.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nOther responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:\nComplies with, and responsible for enforcing, all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.\nComplies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles. Ensures compliance through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound Quality Assurance principles. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.\nThis document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an \"at will\" employment relationship.\nSupervision\nThis position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. \nMay Supervise others as assigned by Engineering Manager\nMinimum requirements\nEducation\nA two-year associate’s degree in electrical or other related field is required.\nExperience\nPosition requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Manufacturing Technical Maintenance field. \nMust possess a broad knowledge of fundamental principles of equipment design and of PLC based control systems. \nExperience in high-speed automated manufacturing a plus.\nSkills:\nStrong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to manually operate a computer with a standard keyboard. Ability to manually operate small hand tools in successful completion of tasks.\nPhysical Requirements\nLevel 2\nLight Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly.
