It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nJob Summary:\nThe material handler uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, handcarts, to move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant.\nJob Responsibilities:\n1. Move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant. “Receive At dock” Process as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for Carriers delivering Finish Good material to include unloading of goods and supplies and ensure the proper handling of the same.\n2. Ensure the Cleanliness, housekeeping on shipping and receiving area\n3. May maintain records.\n4. Ensuring correct and complete identifying labels are attached to all product processed when received, prior to storing or processed.\n5. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.\n6. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.\n7. Works within clearly defined SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.\n8. Notify Quality Representative and crew leader/ supervisor of quality problems\n9. Maintain quality Standards, requirements within the warehouse and keeping track of all damage, reporting the same to the supervisor’s authorities.\n10. Working in accordance with all Safety regulation of the warehouse\n11. Coordinating work with fellow workers and other team members. Teamwork environment is to be reflected as well as company core competencies/core values in performing work duties.\n12. Using a held hand radio frequency, computer system or desktop computer system as required.\n13. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations that affect and impact the warehouse.\n14. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards as defined in BD Quality, Safety and Environmental manual and enterprise I.T System.\n15. Other duties as assigned.\n16 :Availability\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n(1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training 1 year experience.\nForklift certification \nObtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.\nKnowledge and Skills:\nHas basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics).\nAbility to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations.\nAbility to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment. \nGeneral computer skills.\nWorks independently with minimal guidance.\nEffective communication skills at a level co-worker.\nMinimal required supervision.\nSet priorities among multiple tasks\nAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
