It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nJob Summary\nBecton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and product quality.\nJob Responsibilities\nExecute scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems, including but not limited to pumps, motors, conveyors, and assembly line machinery.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, utilizing schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes.\nPerform corrective repairs, including component replacement, alignment, and adjustment of mechanical parts.\nSupport installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper functionality and integration into existing systems.\nConduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime.\nDocument all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and equipment status, in a clear and concise manner.\nCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve complex technical issues.\nAdhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe working environment.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.\n Job Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.\n3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.\nProficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.\nStrong understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical equipment independently.\nExperience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).\nBasic understanding of electrical systems for troubleshooting mechanical-electrical interface issues.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.\nAbility to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.\nWillingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.\nAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
