The job role must maintain an acceptable level of safety, quality, productivity, production, quality and housekeeping in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.\nResponsibilities:\nVerify correct set-up of injection molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.\nEnsure press runs within validated molding conditions.\nMaintain acceptable part quality and submit samples for quality inspection and mold approval at the appropriate time.\nAssist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.\nMake minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs.\nAssist mold attendant and relieve other molding technicians and mold attendants on breaks or in the event of absenteeism. \nAssist supervisor with training programs for new employees. \nResponsible and accountable for: working safely around injection molding equipment, maintaining the expected product quality, achieving adequate production levels, keeping assigned areas clean, and maintaining plantwide 5S program. \nStay current with all departmental inspection procedures and standards. Responsible for the regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality to the most recent specification.\nMaintain records and prepare legible reports, including SPC reports, QC inspection reports, housekeeping checklists, mold cavity sheets, production downtime reports, cycle time sheets and problem/corrective action logs, etc. in accordance with departmental standards and Quality System Standards. \nObserve all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.\nWork with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, departments, mold repair, quality control, and management to facilitate departmental goals.\nDemonstrate the ability to load or input the correct process settings based on the process sheet\nDemonstrate the ability to perform a \"Cold Start\" on a press/mold\nDemonstrate the ability to successfully put barrel heats and hot runner controller into Standby\nUnderstand how to check the Surge Bins when there are material issues\nUnderstand what needs to be done when preparing a mold and press for a gauge change \nUnderstand how to verify part containment is put on correctly, when there is a part containment problem, and what actions need taken to correct the problem\nUnderstand and explain the functions of the injection unit sled \nExplain why and when sprue break is needed and demonstrate the ability how it is set \n Must be able to work 12 hr. day shift (7am - 7pm) on a 3 on-2 off-2 on- 3 off schedule.\nThis job role requires the following or the ability to learn the following within 90 days of the employee’s start date.\nGeneral knowledge of plastic materials and processes\nGeneral knowledge of mold design and operation\nGood knowledge of injection molding processes\nSkilled in safe operation of injection molding presses\nUnderstanding of hydraulic circuits as applied to injection molding machines\nKnowledge of auxiliary equipment involved in injection molding\nKnowledge of good documentation practices and ability to maintain accurate records\nStrong mechanical skills required\nInitiative and ability to work with limited supervision\nAbility to use computer to generate product tickets and to make data entry. \nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nExperience:\nMinimum of 2 years Technical Associate, Set-up role, or equivalent\n Must be able to work 12 hr. day shift (7am - 7pm) on a 3 on-2 off-2 on- 3 off schedule.\nVision Requirements\nDepth Perception\nColor Vision\nPreferred Qualifications:\nInjection Molding Training or Certification\nVocational / Technical School - Industrial Maintenance\nIMT 104 - Schematics\nIMT 107 - Basic Principles of Mechanics\nIMT 108 - Introduction to Industrial Technology\nBasic Thermoplastic Injection Molding\nAdvanced Thermoplastic Injection Molding\nRJG Master Molder 1 Certification\nScientific Molding Principles\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
