It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nPosition Summary\nThe Distribution Manager provides management oversight for all activities within the distribution center and serves as a key liaison between warehouse operations and manufacturing senior leadership. This role is accountable for the safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the facility and equipment.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility.\nMaintain awareness of current and anticipated work volumes to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling based on customer requirements.\nProvide direction in the development and maintenance of warehouse management systems.\nEvaluate space utilization and recommend and implement changes to increase capacity as business volumes change.\nUse Labor Management System (LMS) data to monitor productivity and drive performance toward established goals.\nFoster a positive, structured, and accountable work environment that encourages open communication and reflects BD’s values of Quality, Integrity, and Service.\nReview warehouse procedures and recommend improvements to ensure efficient operation and utilization of equipment.\nEnsure compliance with applicable government regulations.\nSupport warehouse security and promote a safe working environment.\nDevelop and maintain effective communication with management, office, and warehouse personnel.\nParticipate in customer quality programs and process improvement project teams.\nDevelop a working knowledge of all warehouse leadership responsibilities to provide support and coverage during absences and vacations.\nWork a flexible schedule and/or travel as required.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED with 5-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, business operations, or a related area.\n2+ years of proven leadership experience.\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree, preferably in Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.\n3-5 years of leadership experience.\nKnowledge and Skills\nKnowledge of inventory management and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).\nKnowledge of GMPs, SOPs, and work instructions, with the ability to develop techniques that support adherence to quality standards.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review, compare, interpret, and apply information.\nStrong people leadership skills, including developing, coaching, listening, collaborating, and delegating.\nProject management skills.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nKnowledge of product distribution principles and methods.\nKnowledge of P&L within a regulated distribution services environment.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Some areas may require lifting more than 50 pounds.\nThe associate must have vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and hearing sufficient to safely operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in a manufacturing/distribution environment.\nWork Environment\nThe work environment has moderate to loud noise levels and regularly involves working near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to potentially precarious situations, and temperature variations.
