It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nEssential responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nWorks with management to identify and eliminate safety hazards. \nHas detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that the Associate can operate within specified quality/quantity limits. \nSet up, operate and trouble shoot equipment. \nMaintain equipment to produce product to meet BD’s Quality Standards. \nRepair equipment within Associate’s capability and follow department escalation plan. \nPerforms preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program. \nResponsible for recording preventative maintenance, planned and breakdown activities in SAP. \nMust have mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and set up procedures. \nAssist with radiation emergencies when and if they occur. \nPerforms other duties as assigned by Management. \nWork with limited supervision and perform duties in a prompt and professional manner. \nAttend training and meetings as required. \nGeneral housekeeping and clean up of work area / safety awareness. \nSustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members. \nObey all company policies, standards and rules, including but not limited to: Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures); Quality policies and rules \nMust maintain regular, punctual attendance. \nEducation:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent, required \nVocational/technical school, preferred. \nManufacturing experience, preferred. \nExperience:\nManufacturing experience preferred but not required \nForklift - Must be able to obtain License within 3 months \nYard Truck Operation - Must be able to operate within a 3-month period. \nMust have a valid driver’s license \nRadiation certification - Must be able to acquire in 12 months \nThis job is contingent on clearing an FBI background check. You will be required to provide fingerprints to be sent to the FBI. The corporate security officer will determine if the background information will be acceptable for this position. \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nBasic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems. \nMust be able to speak, read and write English \nGood interpersonal skills \nComputer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) - Basic \nPhysical Demands:\nPCP Level 3: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. \nWork Environment (if applicable):\nHigh speed manufacturing environment. Must remain alert and focused. \nNo air-conditioning in parts of sterilization/warehouse area. \nRadiation in close proximity. \nMay have intermittent exposure to chemicals; \nDegree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration and chemicals. \nWhen working outside, any & all physical elements of weather & temperature may be present.
