This position assists the Supervisor in managing the daily workflow and\nproblem-solves deviations in the process and products to ensure consistent quality. This position requires\nflexibility, attention to detail and the ability to manage in a dynamic work environment.\nThis job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and qualifications for this\nposition. The job description is not intended as inclusive of all duties an individual in this position might be\nasked to perform or of all qualifications that may be required either now or in the future.\nJob Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)\nPerform quality control inspection, testing, environmental/microbiological monitoring, and calibration activities in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, drawings, and work instructions.\n Collect, prepare, inspect, and test samples, materials, and components using applicable laboratory and measurement equipment, including Instrons, microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.\nAccurately interpret equipment readings and document inspection, testing, monitoring, and calibration results in accordance with good documentation practices.\nReview applicable supplier documentation and appropriately identify and document accepted, rejected, or nonconforming materials.\nIdentify and escalate abnormal results, discrepancies, equipment issues, and nonconforming conditions, and support investigations and corrective actions as needed.\nMaintain inspection-ready work areas, equipment, supplies, and records, and support calibration activities and internal or external audits as required.\nFollow applicable safety, regulatory, quality system, and company requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent plus 2-3 years of relevant experience, including quality control laboratory testing or product testing experience; OR\nTechnical/Associate degree plus at least 1 year of relevant experience, including quality control laboratory testing or product testing.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBasic knowledge of measurement and inspection equipment.\nPossess technical measuring skills.\nStrong attention to detail and documentation skills.\nBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.\nMust demonstrate the ability to work as a team player, perform as a self-motivator, communicate effectively, follow written procedures, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously\nRead, write legibly, and understand English\nMust have 20/20 correctable vision\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with calibration or metrology systems.\nExperience with environmental monitoring or basic microbiology laboratory practices.\nExperience performing receiving or incoming material inspections.\nExperience working within a regulated Quality System.\nFamiliarity with GMP/GDP practices.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and occasionally bend, reach, stoop, or kneel.\nAbility to handle, inspect, manipulate, and measure small components and samples using inspection and laboratory equipment.\nAbility to perform detailed visual inspections, including distinguishing small defects, markings, contamination, colors, and visual indicators.\nAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nAbility to wear required PPE and perform computer-based documentation and data entry throughout the workday\nWork Environment:\nWork is performed across open cubicle, laboratory, cleanroom, manufacturing, inspection, and warehouse environments.\nRequires compliance with applicable safety, gowning, contamination-control, and PPE requirements.\nMay involve exposure to manufacturing equipment, production-floor noise, cleaning agents, laboratory chemicals, and microbiological samples.\nRequires effective collaboration across functions and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nOccasional schedule flexibility may be required to support Quality and operational needs.\nBD is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer that values and actively seeks diversity in the workforce.\nAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
