It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nThis position is located in Delran NJ\nSummary of Position with General Responsibilities:\nPerforms diversified inspection duties including measuring, testing, and visual verification of chemicals, textile raw materials and subassemblies, labeling and packaging materials, and packaging of subassemblies to determine/ensure compliance to specifications. Reviews device history records and associated documentation in preparation of lot release. Performs environmental monitoring.\nEssential Job Functions:\nPerforms independent incoming, in-process, and final inspection of textile raw materials and subassemblies including yarns, fabrics, and tubular fabrics to determine/ensure compliance to specifications.\n\nInspects product labeling and packaging.\n\nDocuments results of inspections.\n\nPrepares test samples for fiber ID testing of incoming raw materials.\n\nOperates test equipment including, but not limited to, Thickness Gages, Balance/Scales, Skein Winders, Mullen Burst Testers, MTS Tensile Testers, Rulers, and Laser Micrometer.\n\nMaintains receiving inspection, work in process and finished product DHR records.\n\nReviews lot history folders for final lot release sign off.\n\nJDE data entry\n\nAssists in writing inspection and test procedures and other documents relevant to incoming/receiving inspection, work in process, finished product and Lot Release.\n\nMaintains work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition.\n\nParticipates in safety and GxP assessments.\n\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to successfully work in a team-oriented environment.\n\nAbility to make sound decisions regarding product quality versus specification.\n\nAbility to perform basic math functions/formulas, use conversion charts, and understanding of basic statistics and significant digits.\n\nAbility to use linear measuring devices, dial indicators, tensile testers, balances/scales, stitch counters and yarn testers.\n\nKnowledge of Microsoft applications (ex. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)\n\nKnowledge of AQL sampling plans.\n\nEducation/Experience:\nHigh School Graduate with at least 3 years experience in a production facility or quality control laboratory.\n\nExperience in a GMP/ISO or Mil Spec environment preferred.\n\nExperience with textiles a plus.\n\nASQ certification a plus.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nOccasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at inspection stations, bending/squatting and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 50 lbs).\n\nAbility to handle monofilament and multifilament yarn.\n\nDexterity to handle small items for inspections as braided and tubular knitted subassemblies (ranging from 2mm in diameter).\n\nWork Environment:\nMay require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing and testing processes.\n\nAt BD, we are committed to supporting our associates’ well-being, development, and success through a performance-based culture.
