A member of a project team, they work closely with other development engineering functions, software, mechanical, and systems. This role interfaces with manufacturing, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure product reliability, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.\nThe ideal candidate is a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with experience developing electrical and electronic hardware for complex, instrumented systems. They are a strong communicator and collaborator who works effectively across software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.\nThey possess excellent technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including experience with root-cause investigation and failure analysis. Most importantly, they demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance, helping deliver high-performing diagnostic products that meet rigorous medical device standards.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the design and development of electrical, electronic and electro-optic components and systems for automated diagnostic instruments.\nParticipate and hold design reviews for modules and subsystems.\nDesign and develop microcontroller-based modules.\nAssess the ability of proposed designs to meet specified requirements including manufacturability and serviceability.\nLearn and practice the Global Product Development System phase and gate design process. Conduct project work in compliance with internal procedures and processes, ISO 9001, and FDA cGMP standards for the design of Medical Devices.\nLearn and practice design for compliance to IVD and medical standards for safety, EMC, and security.\nInteract closely with software, systems, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering functions to develop comprehensive solutions to design problems.\nDevelop and execute functional tests for modules and systems.\nConduct failure investigations and root cause analyses documenting the results.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.\nHands-on experience building and testing breadboards and prototypes.\nExperience working with microcontrollers. \nExperience using schematic capture and PCB layout tools.\nFamiliarity working with standard lab equipment, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, MCU debug probes.\nSolid understanding of basic electronic circuits and components, LEDs, photodetectors, sensors, amplifiers, voltage regulators, logic, ADC, DAC, memory.\nGood understanding of electro-mechanical components, motors, blowers, heaters, TEC, solenoids, relays. \nPreferred Experience:\nExperience with Altium\nExperience with embedded programming experience in Assembler, C or HDL languages.\nExperience in BOM management and PCBA ordering\nExperience with motion control.\nExperience in the design of analog and mixed signal circuits, sensor to ADC to MCU.\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
