Our people make all the difference in our success.\nAbout the role:\nThe Becton Dickinson Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) is looking for a hands-on, Sr. Software Engineer.\n\nThis position requires extensive hands-on, system design and coding experience, developing software solutions in and associated code in cloud/on-prem, Linux/Windows environments.\n\nThis is highly collaborative position that will be partnering and advising multiple teams by providing guidance on technical solutions.\n\nThis position requires an enthusiastic senior engineer to work across the entire stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable measurable business growth.\n\nEnsure application performance, uptime, and scale and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.\n\nWork with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data workflows that support business needs on Cloud-based systems.\n\nPropose architecture that enables integration of disparate enterprise data\n\nLead multi-functional design sessions with functional authorities to understand and detail data requirements and use cases\n\nDevelop and document the data movement standards, best practices, and promote them across department\n\nDrive long-term data architecture roadmaps in alignment with corporate strategic objectives\n\nConduct code and design reviews to ensure data related standards and best practices are met\n\nProactively educate others on modern data engineering concepts and design\n\nMentor Junior Members of the team\n\nParticipate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and production support\n\nPlan and lead other engineers to deliver features in a fast paced environment\n\nUnderstand user experience and product strategy. Ensure the entire stack is designed and built with a customer-centric mindset and able to make appropriate design trade-offs\n\nClear communication and written skills to collaborate and influence across teams.\n\nRequired skills and qualifications:\nAt least 3 years of experience in building large-scale software applications preferably in healthcare field\n\n2+ years of experience implementing solutions in AWS.\n\nCandidate MUST have experience in owning large, complex system architecture, and hands on experience crafting and implementing solutions for large scale systems.\n\nStrong Programming Experience - JAVA (must have) and Go.\n\nExperience in unit/integration testing\n\nPreferred Skills/Experience:\nExperienced in stream-based and batch processing applying modern technologies is a plus\n\nStrong analytical / Debugging / Troubleshooting skills\n\nExperience transitioning from on-prem big data installations to cloud is a plus\n\nKnowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, Data Protection is a plus\n\nThis is an in-office role to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance.
