Lead day-to-day activities of the unit by coaching associates on a continuous improvement path in their daily manufacturing activities and efforts. Coach associates to be accountable for safety, quality, production, cost, housekeeping and overall policy adherence. Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved while driving production performance to meet goals and schedules. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nPromptly address any safety issues or incidents.\nSpend a minimum of 75% of time on production floor leading associates.\nResponsible for staffing and training plans within the department.\nProvide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.\nProvide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.\nEnsure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management.\nRepresent concerns of production associates to management, as well as management concerns to production associates.\nEnsure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Works with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.\nActively participate and support continuous improvement activities.\nCollaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.\nTrack production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met.
