This position coordinates the utilization of direct manufacturing, packaging, warehouse and material handling labor to ensure plant goals are accomplished and are in alignment with business objectives. The Sr. Production Manager is accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Financial performance, enhancing organizational capability through BD Excellence (Lean), and driving continuous improvement initiatives.\nPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nLeads and drives all production activities and establishes manufacturing priorities to achieve quality, cost, and customer service results within a safe working environment.\nDevelops budget and manages financial performance for areas of responsibility.\nDevelops strategies to drive efficient and effective use of capital and labor. Provides on the job coaching to direct reports. Helps identify areas of opportunity and implement changes to improve performance.\nProvides tools and training for areas of responsibility.\nCollaborates cross functionally with Safety, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Product Support, CI, HR and Finance to implement processes and deliver results.\nCreates and fosters a Culture of Quality throughout the manufacturing organization to ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met.\nEstablishes a working environment that fosters continuous improvement. Provides communication to the Manufacturing and Warehouse teams on the state of the business, plant goals and business strategies.\nImplements recognition, performance appraisal, and accountability systems. Actively participates on plant leadership team and drives the behaviors aligned with the BD Way\nJOB DIMENSIONS:\nMust demonstrate excellent communication skills, fluency in interpreting and modeling the BD values, ability to seek input from others, ability to relinquish control, and knowledge of current and anticipated customer needs.\nWorks closely with all department leaders that directly or indirectly support Manufacturing.\nJob requires independent thought and execution, with little supervision.\nSuccess depends on the ability to work effectively in a highly cross-functional and matrix-oriented environment, leveraging the knowledge of functional experts within BD as appropriate.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s degree in business, management, or a technical field.\n8+ years progressive experience in technical and management roles.\nPrevious experience in an FDA-regulated (cGMP) industry.\nProven experience in people development and leading cross functional teams\nAdvanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nMust be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.\nExperience with TPM, Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMaster’s degree in business or management\nExperience with SAP: eCOMMS, MRP, Manufacturing and Maintenance modules\nKnowledge and experience with Quality Management System or equivalent\nKnowledge of technical writing\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:\nWill supervise a group of individual contributors, leads, and supervisors or managers across multiple shifts.\nMust be available to come in on night shift periodically.\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
