This role is responsible for defining scalable, resilient, and highly integrated system architectures that support critical business capabilities across the enterprise. Partnering closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will guide multiple development teams, drive technology decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, platform strategies, and long-term business objectives.\nThe ideal candidate has demonstrated success leading architecture for large-scale, mission-critical systems and influencing technical direction across teams and organizational boundaries. They possess strong systems thinking and critical-thinking capabilities, enabling them to evaluate complex challenges, communicate architectural tradeoffs, and make sound technical decisions that balance short-term delivery objectives with long-term maintainability, scalability, and extensibility. They are a collaborative leader with a strong sense of teamwork, able to build trusted partnerships across engineering, product, and business functions. Experience in regulated environments is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to effectively convey architectural vision and technical concepts to audiences at all levels of the organization.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn and evolve the architecture roadmap for a large-scale platform over multiple years\nProvide technical direction and architectural governance across multiple delivery teams\nLead design reviews and serve as an escalation point for complex technical decisions\nBalance availability, scalability, security, and compliance requirements in architectural decisions\nPerform software design and implementation, following coding guidelines and considering system characteristics to produce optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability\nConduct software evaluation and testing of own software, software from other engineering staff, and third-party software\nProvide technical documentation for the design, implementation and testing of the software\nDocument and repair errors related to software\nWork with cross-functional project teams to complete Product Engineering projects with minimal guidance\nDevelop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members\nWork with source code management tools (e.g. Github) and work tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)\nMentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization\nRequired Skills/Experience:\nBachelor’ Degree required.\nAt least 10 years of growing responsibility in Research & Development roles.\nExperience with Go or C#, React, Java, Jenkins\nExperience operating in agile development environments\nExperience with healthcare environments\nExperience with cloud-based technologies from public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)\nExperience designing and implementing scalable, highly available cloud architectures using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.\nExperience in Web Development \nProven track record of balancing customer requirements, technical constraints, and architectural best practices when making complex design decisions\nWillingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)\nPreferred Skills/Experience:\nMaster's or advanced degree\nExperience with REST architecture\nExperience with multiple database implementations (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, non-relational databases)\nExperience interacting with global teams\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
