Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nPerforms project planning, justification, specification development, and budgeting.\nHandles vendor interactions, equipment specifications/design, concepts, and vendor negotiations.\nOversees machine purchase and installations, as well as the building of whole machines or processes.\nProvides significant leadership for process and machine design of new product/process developments. \nIdentifies and implements significant continuous improvement projects. \nProvides lead in creativity around solving problems. \nGenerally able to identify solutions to problems encountered without assistance and develops and secures resource planning.\nDevelops and implements new technologies. \nWorks with all Manufacturing areas of the El Paso Plant regarding process and machine designs. \nWorks with plant engineers, management, vendors, consultants, and collaborates with other BD Plants, platform teams, and sales & marketing on development, design, and fabrication of equipment or processes for new products and technologies.\nGenerates and submits new project ideas.\nOther duties as required to support the needs of the business.\nDELIVERABLES\nEnsures safety of all associates and quality of product on all projects’ execution and delivery.\nEnsures equipment, processes, or product integrated to the plant aligns and meets the company and manufacturing unit goals.\nEnsures documentation of each project phase is completed and filed per company guidelines and procedures.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\nMinimum Education:\nThis position has the following minimum educational requirements:\nBA/BS Degree in Engineering is required (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred)\nPMP training/certification is preferred\nMinimum Experience:\n7-10 years Manufacturing projects experience preferred.\n2 years Medical industry experience required.\nKnowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies preferred.\nMinimum Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities (KSA’s): (Not Required/Will Train, Basic, Proficient, Advanced)\nEffective Oral/written Communication - Proficient English (Basic Spanish a plus)\nAbility to work as part of a team / Teambuilding - Proficient \nIndependent thinking / Self Driven - Proficient\nDecision Making Ability - Proficient \nMachine Design - Proficient \nTroubleshooting / Problem Solving - Advanced \nSafety & Ergonomics Expertise - Proficient\nProject Management - Advanced\nQuality Systems Knowledge - Proficient\nLogistics & Planning Knowledge - Basic\nComputer Skills / Microsoft Office - Proficient\nFinancial Acumen - Proficient\nLeadership Skills - Proficient\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
