Our people make all the difference in our success.\nAbout the role:\nThe Becton Dickinson Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) seeks a hands-on Staff Engineer passionate about building and maintaining products that integrates EHR and cloud applications.\n\nThis position requires an enthusiastic technical leader to work across the entire stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable measurable business growth.\n\nEnsure application performance, uptime, and scale and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.\n\nWork with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities.\n\nThis highly collaborative position will partner with and advise multiple teams by guiding the creation and consumption of services.\n\nResponsibilities:\nParticipate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and production support.\n\nArchitect and guide building end-to-end systems optimized for performance, scale, and reliability.\n\nWork primarily in Go, Java, React, and JavaScript.\n\nUnderstanding of HL7/FHIR data integration\n\nPlan and lead other engineers to deliver features in a fast paced environment\n\nUnderstand user experience and product strategy. Ensure the entire stack is designed and built with a customer-centric mindset and able to make appropriate design trade offs.\n\nClear communication and written skills to collaborate and influence across teams.\n\nRequired skills and qualifications:\nBachelor's required, Master's preferred in computer science, Information Systems, or an engineering field.\n\nAt least 7+ years of experience in building large-scale software applications in healthcare field\n\nMust have experience running and supporting production systems on public cloud such as AWS - 2-3yrs.\n\nExperience in leading engineers, planning and execution of deliverables\n\nExperience in designing and building services with AWS is a must.\n\nExperienced in multiple Cloud PaaS persistence technologies and in-depth knowledge of cloud-based offerings and orchestration technologies (AWS Step Function, Airflow, etc.)\n\nExperience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs\n\nExperience in Java, React, and JavaScript\n\nMust have good coding practices, including well-documented code\n\nExperience in interoperability standards like HL7/FHIR.\n\nKnowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, Data Protection is a plus\n\nExcellent debugging and optimization skills\n\nExperience in unit/integration testing\n\nFor most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance.
