It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.\n\nJob Description\nWe are looking for a Technical Writer to join our global technical documentation team within BD’s Pharmacy Automation business, supporting automated pharmacy systems and related software solutions.\nAbout the role:\nAs a Technical Writer, you will apply your expertise to help BD advance the world of health. In this position, you will add value by developing customer-facing and internal product documentation that enhances product usability, clearly communicates design intent, improves the customer experience, and complies with BD style guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.\nKey responsibilities will include:\nDevelop product documentation for suites of BD products, including hardware and software user guides, installation guides, communication/service bulletins, service manuals, and release notes.\nReview product data, requirements, specifications, drawings, part lists, and prototypes to develop customer-facing and internal-facing product documentation.\nEnsure accuracy, clarity, appropriateness, and consistency of documents.\nBuild illustrations, flow charts, diagrams, line art, in addition to product photos for both quality and technical documentation.\nCollaborate with quality, regulatory, marketing managers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to determine type of content and level of detail to be used in product documentation especially instructions for use (IFUs) and to suggest changes to enhance a document's readability, clarity, conciseness, and style.\nAdhere to established templates and guidelines for developing product documentation.\nFollow the product documentation review process and prepare documents for final production and release.\nAbout you:\nAbility to balance multiple projects with excellent follow-up and project management skills.\nFamiliarity with electro-mechanical concepts and software application usage.\nExperience with SolidWorks Composer, XML-based content management systems (CMSs), and content delivery portals is considered an advantage.\nInitial professional experience with AI tools.\nStrong technical aptitude and spatial reasoning skills.\nEducation and experience required:\nBachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or other liberal arts degree.\nExperience working in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices, with a background in supporting compliance with regulatory requirements.\nThree or more years writing and editing hardware/software user guides (print and online) and other technical product documentation.\nAbility to effectively manage and deliver prioritized tasks.\nAbility to demonstrate a high level of initiative to gather information for developing documentation.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nEffective at thinking independently and solving problems with product core team members.\nCompensation:\nThe expected Base Pay Range for this role is $95,900.00 - 153,400.00 USD Annual plus incentives.
