From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that’s where you come in.\nAbout the Role\nBDO's Valuations team is part of our Deal Advisory practice and provides specialist valuation advice across financial reporting, tax, litigation, transactions and strategic advisory matters.\nWe are seeking a Director to join our Melbourne team and play a key leadership role in delivering complex valuation engagements across a diverse client base, including ASX-listed companies, private equity funds, private businesses and legal advisers.\nWorking closely with Partners and senior stakeholders, you will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to drive business development, manage key client relationships, mentor team members and contribute to the continued growth and success of the Valuations practice.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the execution and review of complex valuation engagements, including business valuations, intangible asset valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment testing, financial instrument valuations and independent expert support.\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with senior executives, boards, legal advisers, private equity investors and audit teams.\nManage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.\nProvide technical leadership and quality review of valuation reports, financial models and client deliverables.\nContribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, networking, presentations and identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.\nSupport the development of the Valuations practice through market initiatives, thought leadership and strategic growth opportunities.\nMentor, coach and develop managers, senior analysts and analysts, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.\nMaintain a strong understanding of relevant valuation standards, accounting requirements and market developments.\nSkills, Experience & Qualifications\nExtensive experience in business valuation, financial reporting valuations and transaction-related advisory services.\nStrong technical knowledge of valuation methodologies, accounting standards and valuation frameworks.\nDemonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships and develop new business opportunities.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and commercially.\nProven leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.\nProfessional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent highly regarded.\nWhy BDO?\nWorking for BDO you will be part of a growing and market leading professional services firm.\nOur national and global footprint provides our people with opportunities to work on interesting client engagements, across diverse industry sectors and services.\nOur open and collaborative culture ensures access to Partners and professional mentors, to guide and accelerate your professional career, across a wide array of career pathways.\nWe provide our people with various health and wellbeing, social, financial, and professional development benefits to help realise what’s possible.\nParticipate in fitness challenges or take advantage of exclusive discounts to corporate health insurance, gym memberships and wellness facilities via our BWell program.
