About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager to join our Brisbane team, with a particular focus on supporting the continued growth of our PCAOB and US-listed client capability.

This role is suited to a Manager who has experience working on audits performed underPCAOB auditing standards and is looking to further develop that expertise while continuing to work across a broad portfolio of private, public and international clients. PCAOB exposure is a key requirement for this position.

BDO's Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia's leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.

Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work across a cross section of industries, including participation in engagements performed in accordance with PCAOB auditing standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage, lead, and develop the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements across a range of complexity and scale
  • Service line management, including contribution to overall service line strategy and providing feedback and development to junior members of the team
  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment
  • Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan, procedures, and appropriate quality of work
  • Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters
  • Liaise with clients and identify future opportunities

About You

  • Demonstrated external audit experience in a professional services firm
  • Experience and passion in leading and developing teams
  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Thorough understanding of all financial statement areas
  • Ability to identify potential risks of material misstatement and design audit tests to mitigate those risks
  • Experience in reviewing General Purpose accounts, including listed entities
  • Demonstrated experience working on audits performed under PCAOB auditing standards
  • Experience working with US-listed entities, issuer engagements, or multinational groups subject to PCAOB requirements
  • Ability to identify scope and solve problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Full and unrestricted working rights within Australia

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career. You'll work directly with experienced Partners, lead complex engagements, mentor future leaders and build the skills required for progression into more senior leadership roles within the firm. Just as importantly, you'll join a team that genuinely enjoys working together, with a collaborative culture, approachable leadership group and regular opportunities to connect beyond day-to-day client work.
