We're looking for Senior Consultants to join our Internal Audit & Risk team in Brisbane, working with a broad range of clients to help them strengthen governance, manage risk more effectively, and build strong, sustainable control environments.\nThis is more than a traditional internal audit role. You'll partner closely with clients across a variety of industries, providing practical insights and forward-thinking solutions that help organisations navigate challenges, improve performance, and prepare for what's next.\nYou'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of internal audit, risk management and advisory engagements while building trusted relationships and making a genuine impact for clients.\nAs a Senior Consultant, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality client outcomes, including:\nLeading internal audit engagements from planning and risk assessment through to fieldwork, reporting and stakeholder presentations.\nConducting process walkthroughs, control testing and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.\nDeveloping practical, value-adding recommendations that help clients strengthen their governance and control environments.\nAssessing and enhancing enterprise risk management frameworks, governance structures and internal controls.\nSupporting clients with the design and implementation of risk, compliance and assurance frameworks.\nBuilding strong client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor on risk and governance matters.\nMentoring and supporting junior team members, contributing to our collaborative and high-performing culture.\nAssisting with business development activities, including proposals, presentations and identifying opportunities to add value for clients.\nAbout You\nYou're someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and helping organisations improve the way they manage risk.\nYou'll bring:\nAt least 2 years' experience in internal audit, risk consulting, governance, controls or a related field, ideally within professional services.\nExperience delivering client-facing projects and managing multiple priorities and engagements.\nStrong skills in risk assessment, audit planning and control evaluation.\nAn understanding of internal control frameworks and control effectiveness testing.\nThe ability to communicate findings and develop practical recommendations that drive meaningful outcomes.\nKnowledge of risk management and governance frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO or similar assurance models.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with clients at all levels.\nWhy BDO?\nWorking for BDO you will be part of a growing and market leading professional services firm.\nOur national and global footprint provides our people with opportunities to work on interesting client engagements, across diverse industry sectors and services.\nOur open and collaborative culture ensures access to Partners and professional mentors, to guide and accelerate your professional career, across a wide array of career pathways.\nWe provide our people with various health and wellbeing, social, financial, and professional development benefits to help realise what’s possible.\nParticipate in fitness challenges or take advantage of exclusive discounts to corporate health insurance, gym memberships and wellness facilities via our BWell program.
