The successful candidate will play a key role in leading client engagements, gathering and translating business requirements, supporting solution delivery, and managing quality assurance activities across complex technology transformation projects, focusing on application development and modernization.\nThis role is well suited for an experienced Business Analyst or Technology Consulting professional with strong client-facing skills, project delivery experience, and the ability to lead teams through the full software development lifecycle. This role is for an existing vacancy and offers a hybrid work arrangement, with 2-3 in-office days per week expected, as well as some travel to client sites during important project milestones.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead business analysis activities across client-facing application development and modernization engagements, including requirements planning, elicitation, documentation, validation, and stakeholder sign-off.\nWork closely with clients and internal project teams to understand business needs, define current and future state processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.\nPrepare and contribute to key project artifacts, including business cases, business requirements documents, functional requirements documents, process flows, user stories, use cases, and solution documentation.\nAct as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, developers, QA teams, and project leadership to ensure alignment between business needs and solution delivery.\nSupport agile and waterfall project delivery by facilitating backlog planning, feature decomposition, sprint planning, prioritization, and requirements traceability.\nLead or support quality assurance activities, including test strategy, test planning, test case development, defect management, UAT support, and validation of delivered functionality.\nIdentify, assess, and help mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and business readiness considerations.\nProvide coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to business analysts, consultants, and project team members.\nSupport business development activities, including effort estimation, resource planning, proposal development, RFP responses, and solution scoping.\nSupport internal continuous improvement and practice-building initiatives\nDevelop user guides, training materials, and process documentation; deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to clients and end users.\nBuild strong client relationships and contribute to successful delivery across multiple client engagements and industries.\nParticipate in talent attraction, team building, hiring, and internal practice development initiatives.\nHow do we define success for your role?\nYou demonstrate BDO's core values through all aspect of your work: Integrity, Respect and Collaboration\nYou understand your client’s industry, challenges, and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high quality work\nYou identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clients\nYou share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains and attracts talent\nYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace\nYou grow your expertise through learning and professional development\nYour experience and education\n7+ years of experience in business analysis, technology consulting, project delivery, or a related role.\nExperience mentoring or leading business analysts\nExperience leading business analysis activities on complex technology implementation or software development projects.\nStrong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.\nExperience with leveraging AI tools as a part of their work\nExperience working in both agile and waterfall delivery environments.\nDemonstrated ability to create high-quality project documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, test plans, and training materials.\nStrong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, business users, developers, QA teams, project managers, and senior leaders.\nExperience supporting QA, UAT, defect management, and test planning activities.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements in a fast-paced consulting environment.\nExperience supporting proposals, RFP responses, estimates, or business development activities would be considered an asset.\nExperience supporting or leading internal continuous improvement, practice-building initiatives, or the implementation of best practices would be considered an asset.\nRelevant certifications such as PMP, ECBA/CBAP, TOGAF, Agile/Scrum, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or related credentials would be considered an asset.\nProficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, Azure DevOps/TFS, Jira, or similar requirements, project management, and testing tools would be considered an asset.\nThe expected range of compensation for this role is $115,000 - $165,000 annually.\nWhy BDO?\nOur people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026.
