The ideal candidate can move comfortably between executive strategy, technical architecture, and commercial opportunity development across cloud, data, AI, security, and application modernization.\nThis is neither a delivery-only architecture role nor a pure sales position. The successful candidate will use their banking knowledge and technical credibility to shape executable solutions and expand initial engagements into broader programs and long-term relationships.\nBuild trusted relationships with banking executives, technology leaders, enterprise architects, and delivery teams\n\nLead strategic and technical discussions across cloud transformation, platform engineering, data, AI, security, and application modernization\n\nTranslate banking business priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational challenges into credible technology strategies and executable programs\n\nProvide architecture-level guidance across Azure, AWS, and GCP, including hybrid- and multi-cloud environments\n\nShape engagements from discovery and solution design through proposal development, mobilization, and delivery\n\nDevelop account growth strategies in partnership with sales, delivery, and practice leadership\n\nLead executive workshops, architecture reviews, proposals, roadmaps, and strategic presentations\n\nRemain actively involved in delivery to maintain client trust, support successful outcomes, and identify emerging priorities\n\nMentor architects, consultants, and engineers working within banking accounts\n\nHow do we define success for your role?\nYou demonstrate BDO's core values through all aspect of your work: Integrity, Respect and Collaboration\n\nYou understand the organization’s structure, priorities, and people practices\n\nInternal stakeholders describe you as positive, professional, and consistent in delivering high-quality work\n\nYou identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clients\n\nYou share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains & attracts talent\n\nYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace\n\nYou grow your expertise through learning and professional development\n\nYour Experience and Education:\nDeep banking experience, including technology governance, risk, compliance, and investment decision-making\n\nExperience in one or more banking domains, such as retail, commercial, payments, lending, wealth, capital markets, risk, or finance\n\nBroad understanding of cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, integration, and application modernization\n\nDemonstrated ability to assess complex technology environments and provide clear, practical direction\n\nStrong executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with both senior executives and technical teams\n\nAlthough this is not primarily a hands-on engineering role, candidates must have the technical depth to assess, shape, and challenge enterprise cloud solutions within large banking environments:\nCloud Platform Architect-level knowledge of Azure, AWS, and/or GCP, including hybrid- and multi-cloud environments\n\nPlatform engineering and shared cloud services designed for use across multiple teams and applications\n\nCloud governance, landing zones, identity, networking, security, resilience, and observability\n\nWorking knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and modern application delivery practices\n\nAbility to evaluate technical approaches, identify risks, and explain recommendations to architects, engineers, and executives\n\nPreferred:\n10+ years of progressive experience across banking technology, cloud architecture, consulting, or technology leadership\n\nExperience working directly for a bank, advising banking clients, or both\n\nPrevious experience in consulting, professional services, systems integration, or a technology-provider environment\n\nDemonstrated responsibility for account growth, business development, or market development\n\nExperience leading major cloud transformation, platform modernization, or enterprise technology programs within a regulated bank\n\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing without direct authority\n\nWhy BDO?\nOur people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026.
