This is a new role in the team.\n\nThe Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for building, configuring, and extending the ServiceNow platform across both internal and client engagements, delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions aligned to architectural standards and business requirements. You will provide hands-on technical execution for ServiceNow initiatives including ITSM and CSM implementations, platform modernizations, and legacy tool transitions (e.g., SysAid to ServiceNow), as well as the enablement of automation and AI-driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency and service experience.\n\nWorking under the guidance of the Solution Architect, the Senior Developer ensures solutions are upgrade-safe, maintainable, and production-ready, while supporting continuous improvement and managed services operations across client environments. To be successful, you will be responsible for:\n\nPlatform Configuration & Development\nConfigure and extend ServiceNow ITSM and CSM modules, including workflows, business rules, UI policies, client/server scripts, and catalog items.\n\nBuild and maintain automation using Flow Designer and related tools.\n\nSupport Virtual Agent and self-service experiences as part of automation and deflection strategies.\n\nDevelop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and IntegrationHub where required.\n\nTechnical Quality & Platform Health\nEnsure configurations and customizations align with ServiceNow technical standards and architectural guidance.\n\nSupport platform upgrade readiness by minimizing technical debt and participating in regression testing.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform.\n\nDocument technical designs and configurations for long-term maintainability.\n\nCollaboration & Delivery\nCollaborate closely with Functional Consultants, QA, and the Solution Architect throughout the delivery lifecycle.\n\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and solution design discussions.\n\nSupport UAT, deployment activities, and early-life support post go-live.\n\nAutomation & Innovation\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.\n\nStay current with ServiceNow releases and emerging platform capabilities, including AI-driven features.\n\nContribute to reusable technical components and accelerators for BDO’s ServiceNow practice.\n\nHow do we define success for your role? \nYou demonstrate BDO Canada's core values through all aspect of your work: Integrity, Respect and Collaboration.\n\nYou understand your client’s industry, challenges, and opportunities; client describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high quality work.\n\nYou identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clients.\n\nYou share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains and attracts talent.\n\nYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace.\n\nYou grow your expertise through learning and professional development.\n\nYour Experience and Education\n5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.\n\nStrong experience configuring ServiceNow ITSM; experience with CSM strongly preferred.\n\nProficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting concepts.\n\nExperience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow data models.\n\nSolid understanding of ServiceNow best practices, security, and upgrade-safe development\n\nExperience supporting platform migrations or large-scale implementations.\n\nExposure to AI-enabled ServiceNow features (Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence).\n\nServiceNow certifications:\nCertified System Administrator (CSA)\n\nCertified Implementation Specialist (ITSM and/or CSM)\n\nThe expected range of compensation for this role is $84,000 - $128,000 annually.\n\nWhy BDO?\n\nOur people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026.
