The Manager has a deep and thorough understanding of sales and use tax compliance reporting and filing nuances, is an integral part of onboarding and client setup, takes part in reviewing returns, reconciliations and confirmations as well as training, mentoring and supporting peers and colleagues within the team. This position requires a detail-oriented, highly motivated team player who willingly participates and leads projects around process improvements, automation and other initiatives. In addition, the Manager has prior experience with contracts, financial analysis, marketing and sales. Our compliance solution utilizes Vertex Indirect Tax Returns software and a customized web-portal.\nJob Duties:\nMaintains Client satisfaction\nAssists with and supports all sales tax compliance operations\nProcesses tax returns, filings and completing reconciliations \nReviews prepared returns and filing confirmations \nLeads and manages projects such as process improvements, firm initiatives and amended returns\nProactively develops and maintains relationships with both team members and clients\nReviews and approves invoices as well as analyzes financial metrics\nActs as the primary lead and point of contact to new engagements and onboarding efforts\nMaintains contracts and participates in sales opportunities\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nSupervises the day-to-day workload of SALT Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work products \nEnsures SALT Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns receive proper training and support with all relevant tax software and procedures\nEvaluates the performance of SALT Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development\nDelivers performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for SALT Senior Associates, Associates and Interns\nMentors associates and seniors and provides training as necessary\nQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree, required\nExperience\nFive (5) or more years of experience in sales and use tax compliance, required \nExperience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis, required \nExperience preparing and/or reviewing sales and use tax returns, required\nLicense(s)/Certification(s)\nCPA or CMI certification, preferred\nSoftware\nExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, required \nKnowledge of Vertex Indirect Tax Returns or other sales tax compliance solutions, required \nFamiliarity with Database software, Alteryx or Power Query, required\nLanguage(s)\nN/A\nOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAbility to manage time and priorities effectively, completing tasks in a timely manner\nProven track record of accurately reviewing and completing high volumes of work in a deadline-driven environment, while managing multiple projects simultaneously\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to overcome challenges\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nSolid organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet project deadlines\nAbility to multi-task successfully, working independently or as part of a team\nExperience managing and leading teams of tax professionals, including delegating assignments as needed\nCapacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal colleagues and external clients\nAbility to foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to the professional development of team members\nExecutive presence with the ability to serve as the primary contact on assigned engagements\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with professionals at all levels\nAdvanced knowledge of tax standards and their application to ensure efficient and effective delivery of tax services\nDetail-oriented and results-driven\nDemonstrates sound judgment and effective problem-solving abilities\nAbility to work independently and lead projects and engagement teams\nSkilled in analyzing and developing more efficient processes and procedures\nIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.\nNational Range: $79,800 -
