The Digital Assets Tax Managing Director serves clients in the Digital Assets ecosystem, including lab companies conducting token launches, exchanges, market makers, stablecoin businesses, infrastructure companies performing mining and staking activities, fintech companies, and corporations engaging with crypto and blockchain solutions. This position also supports practice development, manages engagement teams, and collaborates with firm leadership to expand Digital Assets Tax services.\nJob Duties:\nProvides tax compliance and tax consulting services to clients in the Digital Assets ecosystem\nDevelops, builds, and manages client relationships by understanding client needs and delivering responsive, high-quality service\nReviews complex tax returns, extensions, estimated tax calculations, and tax workpapers for accuracy and completeness\nAdvises clients on tax matters involving digital assets, blockchain-related transactions, protocol launches, staking, mining, NFTs, stablecoins, and related activities\nIdentifies tax issues, performs technical research, and develops recommendations for client consideration\nAnalyzes client data, business operations, and transaction activity to identify tax planning opportunities and compliance requirements\nManages multiple tax engagements to ensure timely delivery, appropriate staffing, and adherence to firm standards\nOversees engagement economics, monitors project status, and addresses issues affecting quality, scope, or deadlines\nCollaborates with firm professionals across service lines to support integrated client service and issue resolution\nParticipates in practice development activities, including networking, proposal support, and expansion of existing client relationships\nMonitors changes in tax law, administrative guidance, and industry developments affecting digital assets clients and communicates relevant updates to internal teams and clients\nProvides leadership, direction, and technical guidance to engagement teams\nMentors and develops tax professionals through coaching, training, and performance feedback\nEnsures work product complies with applicable professional standards, firm policies, and risk management requirements\nSupports the continued growth and development of Digital Assets Tax capabilities within Core Tax Services\nOther duties as required\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nManages teams of Senior Managers, Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates\nQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, required\nMaster’s degree in Taxation, preferred\nExperience:\nTen (10) or more years of tax experience in public accounting, required\nFive (5) or more years of experience managing tax engagements and client relationships, required\nExperience providing tax compliance and tax consulting services, required\nExperience serving clients in the Digital Assets ecosystem, required\nExperience with business development and practice growth activities, required\nExperience supervising, mentoring, and developing tax professionals, required\nExperience researching and analyzing complex tax issues, required\nLicense/Certifications:\nCPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required\nPossession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role, preferred\nSoftware:\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required\nExperience with tax research software, required\nExperience with tax compliance software, required\nLanguage:\nN/A\nOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nAdvanced knowledge of federal tax compliance and consulting\nAdvanced knowledge of tax issues affecting digital assets and blockchain-based business activities\nAbility to identify tax issues, research technical matters, and develop practical recommendations\nAbility to manage multiple client engagements and competing deadlines\nAbility to develop and maintain strong client relationships\nAbility to lead teams and provide effective coaching and performance feedback\nAbility to communicate complex tax matters clearly and professionally\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nStrong business development and practice growth skills\nAbility to work collaboratively across service lines and functional teams\nAbility to exercise sound professional judgment and maintain confidentiality\nIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.\nNational Range: $190,000 -
