This is a highly impactful role that has a direct influence on the quality and growth of one of our key product areas.\nYou’ll own the technical hiring strategy and execution across the teams building Murdock, with a particular focus on the kind of engineers who thrive in real-time, safety-critical, product-focused environments. Specifically, you would focus on iOS, machine learning, robotics, and other autonomy-leaning skillsets.\nThis role requires sound judgement, great attention to detail, and comfort with ownership of outcomes. You’ll work closely with engineering leadership and our recruiting team as a trusted strategic partner, driving success throughout the hiring process.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn technical hiring strategy and execution for Murdock-related engineering roles, with a strong preference for candidates who have recruited in robotics, aerospace, or defense environments\n\nPartner closely with engineering leaders to refine role requirements, calibrate on candidates, and align on hiring decisions\n\nSource, screen, and assess candidates; team building is one of the most important areas of work at Beacon, so building an intentional pipeline of exceptional candidates will be key\n\nSynthesize interview feedback and make clear hiring recommendations; establish clear and repeatable structures, expectations, and processes to keep the system fair, efficient, and effective\n\nPartner closely with recruiting operations to optimize workflows, pipelines, and candidate experiences\n\nRepresent Beacon honestly and compellingly to candidates, and help close exceptional talent in this competitive hiring market!\n\nWhat Will Make You Successful\n4+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally in early-stage or fast-growing startups\n\nPrevious experience recruiting iOS, robotics, autonomy, embedded, or other safety-critical technical profiles\n\nDemonstrated ability to source and evaluate high-quality technical candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms\n\nStrong track record of hiring technical talent across a range of experience levels\n\nExperience recruiting for product engineering roles where reliability, ownership, and product judgement matter\n\nStrong relationship-building skills, good judgment, comfort with pushing back, and the ability to earn trust and influence senior stakeholders\n\nBonus Points\nProven success as a founding or early technical recruiting hire\n\nHands-on experience using Ashby, our ATS\n\nInterest in aviation or mission-critical software systems\n\nWork Location\n This is a hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA, with 3+ days per week onsite and the option to work remotely on remaining days.\nPerks & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)\nHealthcare: 100%* of employee medical premiums covered; 25% for dependents\n\nTime Off: 3 weeks PTO plus 13+ paid company holidays\n\n401(k): Offered (no current employer match, but we are committed to enhancing this benefit in the future)\n\nDue to U.S. export control regulations, we can only hire U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status).
