Together, we're changing the way patients are diagnosed and treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology.\nAs a Senior Mobile App Engineer, you'll help power Beacon's mission by building the cross-platform React Native apps that patients and clinicians use with our EEG headbands and other wearables. Your work will shape how people capture high-fidelity data and how easily they move through clinical trials and at-home diagnostics.\nThis isn't just another app. You'll build tools that help unlock insights into neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders, with the potential to improve lives at scale.\nBeacon's robust asynchronous work practices ensure a first-class remote work experience, and we also have in-person office hubs in Boston and New York. For this position we will consider candidates based anywhere in the US Eastern time zone.\nWhat success looks like\nAs part of our small, mission-driven Mobile Apps Team, you will:\nLead development of our React Native mobile applications across iOS and Android.\nDesign and implement UX workflows for clinical trial participants and at-home diagnostic patients.\nOwn the user experience, performance, reliability, and observability of the apps and features you build, using feedback from real users across diverse use cases and environments.\nWork with engineers on our native iOS and Android BLE device SDKs to integrate device capabilities cleanly into the app.\nPartner with our Devices team, other Platform teams, and product designers to build user-centric mobile capabilities deeply integrated with the rest of Beacon's product ecosystem.\nHelp shape the roadmap and technical direction of our mobile platform.\nIn your first 3-6 months, you might:\nBuild a new in-app feature to validate EEG signal quality before data capture.\nStreamline onboarding for new patients and trial participants to make our devices easier to use than ever.\nDeploy new features that help our Clinical Operations team track compliance.\nImprove app performance, release reliability, and crash/telemetry visibility across our Expo-based build pipeline.\nWhat you will bring\nYou'll be a great fit if you have:\n8+ years of experience in mobile development, including substantial experience shipping and maintaining production React Native apps on both iOS and Android.\nStrong TypeScript skills and familiarity with our stack (React Native, Expo, GitHub).\nExperience with app state management, offline-first data handling, and app store release processes.\nA product mindset: you care deeply about UX, edge cases, and performance.\nStrong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, async environment.\nBonus points if you've:\nIntegrated BLE peripheral devices into iOS and/or Android applications, or worked with sensor integration or health data streams.\nWritten native code (Swift or Kotlin) or built native modules for React Native.\nWorked with medical devices, EEG, or wearables.\nWorked on apps for clinical trials, patients, or another regulated environment.\nContributed to open source mobile or React Native projects.\nThe salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000. Salary ranges are determined using current market compensation data for this role and adjusted based on experience, skills, and location.
