You will also serve as a direct representative of Midwest Bus Sales with customers, making communication and customer service an important part of the role.\nWhat You Will Do\nDiagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related fleet equipment\nPerform preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections\nDiagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air-conditioning systems\nUse vehicle electronic diagnostic systems to identify failure modes and complete repairs\nPerform technically difficult repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds as needed\nRespond to customer service calls and emergency breakdowns\nCommunicate repair needs, estimated repair time, and required materials to the Service Writer\nIdentify warrantable repairs and document them accurately on repair orders\nComplete repair documentation, parts usage, and labor time in the fleet maintenance system\nMaintain positive, professional relationships with customers\nKeep current on new equipment, technology, repair procedures, and industry regulations\nHelp identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow the service business\nWhat We Are Looking For\nWe are looking for an experienced technician who can operate effectively in a mobile environment and solve problems without constant supervision.\nSuccessful candidates should bring:\nStrong experience repairing medium- or heavy-duty vehicles\nAdvanced mechanical and diagnostic skills\nExperience with electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and HVAC systems\nAbility to use computerized diagnostic equipment\nExperience using power tools, hand tools, and standard repair equipment\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nExcellent time management and organizational skills\nStrong communication and customer-service skills\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs\nWhat Makes Someone Successful in This Role\nThe strongest Mobile Service Technicians are self-starters who take ownership of their work.
