You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities across North London with a focus on life skills and community participation. We accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in supporting teenagers and young adults in their home and local community, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services adopts a \"positive risk taking\" approach in ensuring the young people we support are provided with opportunities that increase their independence and improve their quality of life.\nSuccessful candidates should be available to work Monday-Friday if seeking a full-time position. We CANNOT sponsor overseas candidates at this time.\nRequirements\nDuties\nTo assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice\nTo support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.\nTo monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets\nTo support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., behaviours of concern, providing support as per prescribed Behaviour Support Plan strategies and protocols.\nTo ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible\nTo assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)\nTo model best practice and professionalism at all times\nTo attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules\nTo promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard\nTo implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required\nFlexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends\nOther duties as required by your manager\nRequired qualifications and skills\n2 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism\nExperience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.\nExperience of supporting individuals through periods of dysregulation, including episodes of behaviours of concern.\nClean drivers' licence and willing to drive an automatic car. \nPreferred qualifications\nUndergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field\n3 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism\nRegistered Behaviour Technician - or working towards\nExperience utilising ABA methodology\nIND-BST-L\nBenefits\nFull and part time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £12.82-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for eligible full-time staff from £25,000- £27,300 based on 37.5 hour working week - overtime hours available. You should have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including some 9PM finishes.
