You will learn the full BeamNG vehicle creation pipeline by helping build a Formula Student race car model and tuning it for core dynamic disciplines such as skidpad, acceleration, autocross, and endurance.\nJust as importantly, you will document the process. Your notes, guides, and tutorials will help create a reference project for Formula Student teams who want to use BeamNG for virtual testing, setup evaluation, and early-stage vehicle development.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop the physics model of a Formula Student race car in BeamNG using JBeam\nCreate or adapt the vehicle’s 3D mesh for visual representation\nSelect and integrate chassis, suspension, wheel, and powertrain configurations\nImplement simulation scenarios for core Formula Student dynamic events\nDevelop documentation and tutorials to support future Formula Student teams in using BeamNG for virtual vehicle testing\nRequirements\nEducation: Currently pursuing a degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\nThe SAE Spirit: Active or past involvement in a Formula Student team ideally in chassis and suspension design or vehicle dynamics simulation. Familiar with Formula Student rulebook and design constraints\nCuriosity Over Expertise: You don’t need to be a coding wizard yet, but you must be eager to learn text-based physics configuration (Jbeam) and basic scripting.\nStrong Communication: You enjoy explaining how things work.
