This team member is responsible for providing knowledgeable and friendly sales and service from the first point of contact with the resort. This role is responsible for managing the Lesson Desk phone, email account, selling same day lessons/tickets/rentals, and greeting people as they arrive at the resort. A successful member of this team will understand and appreciate the opportunity to provide exceptional guest experience and work hard to consistently exceed customer expectations.\nPart Time positions available.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\nThis job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities and necessary qualifications for the position. Collaborative, helpful, and positive attitudes are appreciated in all work assignments. \nCreate opportunities to invite new guests to join a ski and/or snowboard lesson \nEffectively communicate with guests about product types, prices, special offers \nProvide timely and accurate information about products purchased and prepare guests for their visit\nProvide pre- and post-sales support through phone calls and email communication \nCreate, source and share materials with new guests to prepare them for their first visit \nAssist guests with inquiries, directions and other resort information \nRespond to all guest inquiries via phone and email in a prompt and professional manner\nManage the Lesson Desk email account and phones\nNavigate and assist guests with e-Store purchases - make updates as required\nCheck-in lesson guests when they arrive onsite and assist with other items they may need (rentals/tickets) \nClose sales at POS registers at the end of each day using best practices outlined by Accounting\nCollaborate and communicate with Marketing, Rentals, Guest Services, and other departments\nCommunicate with Ski and SB School Supervisors regarding sales and inquiries \nOther duties as assigned \nSkills and Competencies\nExperience in customer service/sales/reservations \nAbility to provide quality customer service and interact with guests on a professional level \nAbility to develop a thorough understanding of the Axess and Sumo point of sale systems\nProficiency with Microsoft applications, website navigation and CRM tools\nAbility to maintain a positive, friendly and helpful attitude in all situations \nExcellent communication and listening skills \nProven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, and take initiative to address problems\nWork Schedules\nWeather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work schedule for Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees.\nWhen conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 32 to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods - particularly the holiday periods in December, January and February - you may be expected to work additional hours and/or days.\nWorking Conditions\nAt any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.\nEmployees working inside can expect a noisy environment and frequent contact with guests and other resort employees.\nYou must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you may be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy roads. The employee shuttle is available from select locations along highway 4 for return transport to and from work.\nUniforms\nA professional appearance at Bear Valley Mountain Resort is required, and some uniform items will be provided as part of your role, including light shirt/hoody, hat and nametag.\nHousing\nSome shared housing options are available to qualified Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees who can pass a background check and sign a lease agreement. Please indicate whether you are interested in receiving more detailed information on housing.\nThe skiing/riding employee represents a model of safety for guests and fellow employees.
