In this Manager-level role, you will be responsible for designing scalable, resilient, and commercially viable software solutions for our clients across a range of industries. You will work hand-in-hand with delivery managers, engineering teams, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures. \nThis role is responsible for ensuring the technical quality, architecture, and non-functional delivery of solutions, while contributing hands-on where appropriate. The Software Architect works closely with the Product Team (Business Architect, Product Owners), Solution Architect, and Delivery Team to ensure that solutions are technically sound, maintainable, and aligned with delivery objectives. \nThis role provides technical leadership across the delivery lifecycle, including software architecture, implementation guidance, non-functional requirements, production support, and technical mentoring. \nThe Software Architect remains embedded within the delivery team and contributes to implementation where appropriate to maintain strong understanding of the codebase and technical challenges. \nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES \nThe Software Architect is accountable for the overall technical quality of the delivery. This includes solution architecture, non-functional requirements, engineering standards, and production readiness. \nThis accountability is exercised through defining and evolving architecture, establishing and enforcing engineering standards, ensuring non-functional quality goals are met, and providing hands-on technical leadership throughout implementation and production support. The role ensures that technical decisions are applied consistently across the delivery and that technical risk is actively identified, managed, and communicated. \nEvaluate and recommend appropriate technology stacks, frameworks, and cloud services aligned to client needs and BearingPoint standards. \nAct as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders, clearly communicating architectural decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences. \nSupport pre-sales and bid activities by contributing to solution design, technical proposals, and client workshops.\nStay abreast of emerging technologies, architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless), and industry trends. \nContribute to BearingPoint's internal community of practice, knowledge-sharing forums, and capability development. \nMentor and coach senior developers, helping them transition into architectural thinking and supporting their career growth within the practice. \nIdentify opportunities for technical value-add during client engagements, effectively 'selling' modern architectural approaches that solve business problems. \nSKILLS & EXPERIENCE \nEssential: \n12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture or technical lead capacity \nDeep technical expertise inmodern .NET (Core/6+) or Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus) ecosystems. \nStrong proficiency in designing and implementing software solutions on one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). \nDeep expertise in modern software architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven architecture, API-first design, and domain-driven design (DDD). \nProven experience with enterprise integration patterns, messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and API gateway technologies. \nSolid understanding of software security architecture principles \nExperience producing architecture artefacts such as C4 models, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and ADRs. \nStrong communication skills; ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical client stakeholders. \nFamiliarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS/EKS) and modern observability stacks (ELK, Prometheus, AppInsights). \nExperience managing or mentoring other architects or technical leads \nDesirable: \nExperience in a consulting or professional services environment delivering architecture solutions to enterprise clients. \nProven experience in legacy modernization, specifically transitioning monolithic .NET Framework or JEE applications to modern, cloud-native architectures. \nRelevant software architecture certifications \nFamiliarity with data architecture, or AI/ML integration patterns. \nExperience with regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or public sector. \nFamiliarity with data architecture, AI/ML integration patterns, or Agentic AI frameworks (Semantic Kernel, LangChain) \nWhy you will enjoy working at BearingPoint Ireland?\nWe work in an open and collaborative way, where new ideas are always welcome.
