In collaboration with several customers, BEC is developing a platform, based on Kafka, which will support the specific business needs of each bank.\nFor BEC, we are looking for an experienced and innovative Kafka Systems Engineer to contribute to the development and integration tasks on the Kafka platform. You will be part of an agile team responsible for maintaining a strategic integration platform to ensure that the platform is continuously being expanded with new capabilities to support business needs.\nPrimary task and responsibilities:\nAs a developer, you will work closely with your colleagues to create and maintain our event streaming platform based on Kafka, contributing to the future success of BEC’s customers.\nYour primary tasks will include designing, implementing, and maintaining the Kafka platform, as well as developing tools and procedures for monitoring, logging, and improving deployments. You will also prepare documentation on the use of Kafka and support other teams across the organization in effectively using the platform.\nAs we use DDD (Domain-Driven Design) for modelling, you will collaborate closely with other development teams to support the implementation of this approach in their work.\nYou will also contribute to creating innovative, scalable, and stable IT solutions, with a strong focus on operational stability. Through extensions and configurations, you will help ensure that BEC’s solutions can effectively support the financial sector’s business processes and evolving technical possibilities.\nYou will work with a modern toolset, including technologies, methods and principles, such as:\nApache Kafka, supported by Confluent\nJava / Spring Boot\nOpenShift / Kubernetes / Helm\nCI / CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery)\nBest practices in software development, test-driven development, design patterns, etc.\nTo succeed you will have:\nA relevant educational background in IT or software engineering, combined with experience with technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s) / OpenShift, Java, and Jenkins / Argo CD.\nExperience in running and maintaining a Kafka platform or event streaming applications \nExperience working in agile development teams. \nA service-minded approach and experience working with customers, partners, and colleagues.\nThe ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines related to ongoing deliveries and operations.\nThe ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, combined with an analytical and structured approach to your work.\nFluency in written and spoken English.\nNice to have section:\nExperience from the financial sector, telecom, pharma, or a major consultancy would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.\nBe your best self with BEC’s benefits!\nWe offer a diverse range of benefits for our employees.
