Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) - Site Based

We'relooking for a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Industrial team and deliver projects within one of New Zealand's largest and most complex heavy manufacturing environments. Based in South Auckland, you'lllead capital projects and equipment upgrades that improve plant performance, safetyand operational reliability.

In this role, you'lllead projects through the full lifecycle, from concept development and equipment specification through to procurement, installationand commissioning. Working closely with stakeholders, contractors, suppliersand operational teams, you'lldeliver practical engineering solutions that improve plant performance and operational effectiveness.

You'llcontribute to a diverse portfolio of capital, reliability, maintenance, safetyand operational improvement initiatives. Working within one of Aotearoa's largest and most complex industrial manufacturing facilities, you'llwork with advanced manufacturing technologies, large-scale mechanical systems and critical production assets that support one of New Zealand's most significant industrial operations.

• Leading capital projects, equipment upgradesand operational improvement initiatives within a live manufacturing environment

• Managing project scope, programme, budget, riskand stakeholder engagement from concept through to operational handover

• Coordinating equipment vendors, suppliers and local contractors through procurement, installationand commissioning

• Working with operations and maintenance teams to integrate new equipment into existing plant infrastructure

• Leading safe installation and commissioning activities in brownfield environments while maintainingoperational continuity

You'rea practical, safety-focusedand proactive engineer who enjoys taking ownership, building trusted relationshipsand delivering successful outcomes in complex industrial environments.

You’llbring:

• A Mechanical Engineering qualification and experience delivering capital projects within heavy industrial or manufacturing environments

• Strong project management, stakeholder engagementand contractor management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

• Experience managing brownfield installations with a focus on health, safetyand operational risk management

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand
