We are looking for an exceptional Machinist / Prototype Fabrication Engineer to help us build it.\nThe Role\nYou will work directly with Becoming's engineers and scientists to rapidly turn designs into physical hardware.\nThis is primarily an R&D and prototyping environment rather than conventional production manufacturing. You should enjoy rapid iteration, unusual engineering challenges, and working closely with the people designing and testing what you make.\nWhat You'll Do\nMachine precision components for experimental hardware.\nOperate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment.\nBuild custom fixtures, jigs, adapters, enclosures, and experimental components.\nWork from CAD, engineering drawings, sketches, and early-stage concepts.\nAdvise engineers on manufacturability, tolerances, materials, and fabrication approaches.\nRapidly modify components in response to experimental results.\nDevelop machining strategies for unusual geometries and low-volume parts.\nInspect components and verify critical dimensions.\nSupport assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of experimental hardware.\nHelp build a world-class internal rapid-prototyping capability.\nRequirements\nMust Have\nHave substantial hands-on machining experience.\nAre highly capable with CNC milling and/or turning.\nAre comfortable with manual mills and lathes.\nCan independently take a component from drawing or CAD through fabrication.\nUnderstand GD&T, tolerancing, fits, surface finishes, and inspection.\nHave strong intuition for manufacturability.\nAre comfortable working across metals and engineering polymers.\nEnjoy working directly with engineers in a fast-moving R&D environment.\nTake exceptional pride in the quality of physical things you build.\nNice to Have\nCAM programming\nMulti-axis machining\nPrecision fabrication\nScientific
