It must work continuously, predictably, and under real biological constraints.\nThe Role\nWe are hiring a Robotics Engineer (Product / Electrical) to design and own end-to-end hardware products at the core of Becoming’s platform.\nThis is not a component role. You will design complete systems - mechanical, electrical, and firmware - and take responsibility for whether they work in the real world.\nYou may go deepest in one domain, but you must be fluent across all three. No handoffs. No silos.\nHigh agency is required. You will define requirements, make hard tradeoffs, and own outcomes.\nWhat You’ll Own\nEnd-to-end ownership of complex, integrated hardware platforms \nMulti-layer PCB architecture: schematic capture, layout, grounding strategy, stack-up design, signal integrity, power distribution, EMI mitigation \nMixed-signal board design and low-noise sensing systems \nBoard bring-up, hardware debugging, and iterative refinement \nFirmware for real-time control, monitoring, and fault tolerance \nMechanical integration with attention to thermal, vibration, and environmental constraints \nFailure analysis under continuous operation \nReliability engineering and stress testing \nEngineering standards, documentation, and scalable build processes\nWho You Are\nYou are someone who:\nOperates with high agency - you identify problems, define solutions, and execute\nTakes end-to-end ownership of what you build\nBrings high energy to complex, ambiguous engineering challenges\nActs with high integrity - you are honest about tradeoffs, risks, and failure modes\nCommunicates directly and clearly, especially when something won’t work\nIs self-aware about your strengths and gaps, and proactively fills them\nThinks like a systems integrator, not a narrow specialist\nCares deeply about understanding systems at a first-principles level\nRequirements\nEngineering degree or equivalent demonstrated depth \nExperience architecting and shipping custom PCB-based systems \nStrong mixed-signal design capability (analog + digital) \nExperience bringing boards from design through bring-up and production iteration \nDemonstrated ownership of hardware systems operating in real-world conditions \nFunctional fluency across mechanical and firmware domains \nAbility to operate without rigid process scaffolding or pre-validated platforms\nStrong Signals\nMulti-board architectures with distributed control \nPrecision sensing systems with low-noise analog front ends \nRobotics or advanced
