Your Role
We’re looking for a Finance Systems & Operations Intern to support our Finance team during an accounting system migration and help with day-to-day finance operations. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with data, and enjoys solving problems.
You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager to migrate financial information, clean and validate data, improve processes, and support various finance works. You’ll get exposure to both finance operations and finance systems, making this a great opportunity to understand how a startup builds and scales its financial processes.
Your Job Scope
- Support the migration of financial data from the existing accounting system to the new system.
- Review and validate migrated data for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform reconciliations between the old and new accounting systems.
- Maintain migration trackers, documentation, and supporting schedules.
- Support day-to-day finance and accounting activities.
- Assist with invoice processing, payment tracking, and expense management.
- Prepare financial schedules, reports, and analysis.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets trackers and financial models.
- Research and compile financial information for stakeholders.
- Assist with FY closing, audit, tax, and other finance-related requests.
- Take on new projects as the company grows and priorities evolve
Desired Qualities
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Comfortable learning new software and systems quickly.
- Proactive, resourceful, and willing to get hands-on.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
