This role will partner with various stakeholders, including senior business partner across Beiersdorf.\nYour Tasks\nSupport local and global commercial functions including but not limited to marketing teams.\nReview marketing materials, artwork claims, and company communications (digital, social media, television, and print) for compliance with laws and regulations (e.g. FTC, FDA, NAD, Cosmetic Regulations, MOCRA)\nLiaises with internal and external collaborators regarding BDF’s intellectual property portfolio, websites, domains, content clearance in the U.S.\nCollaborates with Beiersdorf’s Global legal teams for claims support, intellectual property and brand protection\nWork closely with commercial teams to ensure understanding of the business in order to provide legal advice or assist with escalating/proactively addressing topics\nPartner cross-functionally, with global legal colleagues to support various project initiatives\nDrafts and negotiates a high volume of various commercial contracts (e.g. commercial, marketing, etc.)\nDrafts contract templates and other legal documents including but not limited to working within global group standards and global framework agreements\nStay abreast of any applicable changes in regulations, laws, as well as legal challenges occurring in similarly situations industries and update legal with relevant developments\nAssists with audits and other risk management initiatives\nAssists with any potential/pending litigation or disputes as needed\nSupport Mergers and Acquisitions and post-merger integrations on topics such as contracts and data transfers\nAssists with management the contract library and any applicable contract databases, including uploading and tracking of documents\nAssist with administration of contract lifecycle management database and contract routing\nAssist with corporate housekeeping matters as needed\nAssist with compliance program, trains colleagues on legal and company policies when necessary, and tracks and reports\nTrack legal costs, and process invoices, purchase orders etc. for dept\nPerform administrative duties including organizing the department budget, leading and maintaining digital and/or physical files, submitting and filing paperwork.\nAssist with externship recruiting and supporting interns and law clerks\nProvide assistance with other company initiatives\nAssist with other matters and provide coverage for North America Legal department as needed\nYour Profile\nDoctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from an accredited law school\nA member, in good standing of a U.S. State Bar with the ability to practice law in Connecticut or eligible for the Connecticut In-House Counsel Bar\n1-3 years of experience as Legal Counsel or in a similar position in the legal department of an international corporation\nSpecialized knowledge of marketing law and business law topics is preferred\nAbility to spot legal issues across subject areas and facilitate conversations with the right subject matter authorities to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, actionable legal counsel to collaborators\nExperience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts\nExperience with advertising laws/regulations and intellectual property\nKnowledge and experience of North American legal system, rules and regulations\nConsumer products or in-house counsel experience strongly preferred\nExcellent oral and written communication skills in English\nStrong, clear, concise communication skills that can adapt based on the audience\nPositive team member and active contributor in a team environment\nCollaborative, pro-active, solution-oriented approach\nStrong PowerPoint and presentation skills\nStrong negotiation and facilitation skills\nAble to perform administrative tasks as needed\nExcellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously\nStrong attention to detail, responsive and well organized\nMust be pro-active and have creative problem solving skills\nThe ability to travel domestically and internationally (Role is based in Stamford, CT. \nBase Salary Range: $94k-$118k base salary\nActual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills and other factors.\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\nAt Beiersdorf, we value diversity and aim to provide equal opportunities to all of our applicants - regardless of e.g. gender, sexual identity, nationality, ethnicity, religion or ideology, disability or age.
