Acting as the bridge between engineering, software development, and business stakeholders, you will define the product roadmap, steer development activities, validate engineering calculations, and contribute hands-on to software development.\nThis is a unique opportunity for someone who combines structural engineering expertise with software development capabilities and thrives in a highly collaborative, international environment\nKey Activities and Responsibilities\nProduct Strategy & Ownership\nOwn the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Bekaert's engineering calculation tools.\nDefine priorities, milestones, and release plans aligned with business objectives.\nBalance short-term operational support of existing tools with the long-term digital transformation strategy.\nServe as the primary point of contact between Product, Engineering, IT, Commercial teams, and external partners.\nTechnical Leadership\nTranslate structural engineering principles, design codes, and industry standards into software requirements and technical specifications.\nReview, validate, and govern engineering algorithms and calculation methodologies.\nEnsure traceability between design codes, engineering rules, and implemented software logic.\nIdentify opportunities to leverage AI and advanced technologies within the engineering tools landscape.\nSoftware Development & Architecture\nContribute hands-on to the development and enhancement of software solutions using C#, .NET, and related technologies.\nSupport modernization efforts, including migration from legacy Excel/VBA solutions to scalable web applications.\nReview code quality, maintainability, and performance across internal and external development teams.\nDrive best practices in software architecture, testing, and documentation.\nStakeholder & Vendor Management\nLead and coordinate external development partners, freelancers, and engineering specialists.\nGather feedback from internal and external users to continuously improve the product.\nCollaborate with mobile application and digital solution teams to ensure platform integration and consistency.\nFacilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nQuality, Documentation & Support\nDefine and maintain documentation standards for technical, validation, and user-facing materials.\nEnsure knowledge transfer and reduce dependency on single individuals.\nSupport incident resolution and troubleshooting of critical business applications.\nDrive reporting and visualization capabilities through dashboards and analytics tools.\nPrevious Experience\nMaster's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.\n\nStrong understanding of structural design principles, engineering standards (Eurocodes, ACI, or equivalent), and the translation of calculation models into software solutions.\n\nHands-on software development experience with C#, .NET, Python, and modern web application development.\n\nKnowledge of JavaScript, React, Power BI, data visualization tools, and advanced Excel/VBA.\n\nUnderstanding of calculation engines, numerical methods, simulation tools, and rule-based systems.\n\nExperience working at the intersection of engineering and software development, with the ability to lead technical roadmaps and collaborate across cross-functional teams.\n\nStrong project management, stakeholder management, communication skills in English, and the ability to balance business, technical, and user requirements in an international environment.\n\nBe bold and take the leap!\nWe're looking for individuals who are not afraid to take risks and explore new ideas.
