As our user base grows rapidly, we’re investing heavily in scalability, reliability, security, and developer infrastructure.\nJob Overview\nWe’re looking for an experienced Backend Infrastructure Engineer to help scale the core systems powering Beli.\nIn this role, you’ll own critical parts of our backend and infrastructure stack on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including application scalability, cloud architecture, reliability, observability, security, CI/CD, and developer tooling. You’ll work closely with the CTO and engineering team to ensure Beli remains fast, reliable, and secure as we continue to grow.\nThis is a highly impactful role with significant ownership and autonomy. The ideal candidate enjoys building robust systems in fast-moving startup environments and is excited to shape the technical foundation of a rapidly growing consumer product.\nResponsibilities\nBackend Architecture & Scalability\nDesign and implement scalable backend systems and infrastructure\nImprove performance, reliability, and efficiency across our services and databases\nOptimize Postgres, caching layers, background job systems, and APIs\nDesign systems that support rapid product iteration while maintaining operational excellence\nLead architectural decisions around scalability, resiliency, and distributed systems\nInfrastructure & DevOps\nOwn and improve our cloud infrastructure and deployment systems on GCP\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and operational dashboards\nImprove monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response processes\nManage infrastructure automation and environment consistency\nImprove engineering velocity through internal tooling and platform improvements\nSecurity & Reliability\nStrengthen application and infrastructure security across the stack\nImplement best practices around authentication, authorization, secrets management, and data protection\nLead efforts around uptime, disaster recovery, backups, and operational resilience\nConduct infrastructure reviews, audits, and reliability improvements\nEngineering Collaboration\nPartner closely with product and engineering teams to support new feature development\nHelp establish engineering best practices and technical standards\nMentor engineers on backend architecture, infrastructure, and operational excellence\nParticipate in technical planning and long-term architecture discussions\nQualifications\n4+ years of experience as a software engineer focused on backend systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering\nStrong experience designing and operating scalable production systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)\nExperience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, Load Balancing, IAM, and Monitoring\nStrong experience with Python and backend frameworks such as Django\nDeep knowledge of CI/CD, observability, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployments\nStrong understanding of production security best practices and operational reliability\nExperience optimizing Postgres performance and database design\nAbility to operate independently and take ownership in fast-paced startup environments\nStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nGrit, hustle, intellectual curiosity, and a strong builder mentality\nNice to Have\nExperience scaling consumer social or marketplace products\nExperience with asynchronous systems and job queues\nExperience building internal developer platforms or tooling\nExperience at high-growth startups\nTechnologies We Use\nPython / Django\nPostgres\nGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)\nCloud Tasks\nDocker\nGitHub Actions\nTypeScript / Angular\nCompensation\nCompensation will be determined based on experience and skills.
