As we continue to grow, we’re looking for motivated, early-career professionals who are eager to make an impact and grow their careers with a company that values integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nJob Summary\nThe Staff Accountant is responsible for functions of the company’s general accounting operations, including month-end close and fixed asset management to ensure the financial health and integrity of the organization. This role supports the Director of Accounting and a team of accountants and professional staff responsible for daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities, including period close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and external audits.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n· Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy, identify variances, and summarize financial status.\n· Assist in key aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.\n· Management of fixed asset records and reconciliations.\n· Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.\n· Support the Director of Accounting in driving efficiencies and continuous improvement, including day-to-day operations, period close, financial reporting, etc.\n· Assist with annual audits - investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.\n· Support periodic budgeting process.\n· Prepare tax and other regulatory filings.\n· Cash management for retail locations.\n· Secondary support for treasury, tax, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.\n· Provide guidance and training for other accounting team members as needed.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\n· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required and 2+ years of experience in a related role.\n· Public accounting experience preferred.\n· Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\n· Experience with integrated ERP Accounting Systems preferred.\n· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n· Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.\nWhy Bell & Evans\nWhen you join Bell & Evans, you’re joining a family-owned company that’s revolutionizing the poultry industry through innovation, quality, and care for people, animals, and the environment.
